Minor Eye Conditions Service – Oxfordshire
If you are registered with an Oxfordshire GP, and are suffering with one of the below conditions, then our Banbury practice is accredited to examine, and in some cases treat, you under the NHS. Optometrists Michael Round & Jeremy Hayward have undergone further training and assessment to provide you with the best care that is possible.
- Red eye or eyelids
- Dry eye or gritty and uncomfortable eyes
- Irritation and inflammation of the eye
- Significant recent sticky discharge from the eye or watery eye
- Recently occurring flashes and floaters
- Painful eye
- Ingrowing eyelashes
- Recent and sudden loss of vision
- Foreign body in the eye
“Many minor eye conditions, for example red eyes and eye infections can be appropriately managed within the community optometry practice.
We are delighted to be involved with this scheme to allow us to provide enhanced care for the people of Banbury, and to reduce the requirement for referrals into an already busy eye hospital system.”

To make an appointment for this service, contact the practice on 01295 262 501 – one of our receptionists will take some details about your symptoms and if appropriate will book an appointment to be seen by one of our accredited optometrists. Appointments are usually available within 48 hours – in exceptional circumstances we may have to refer you to an alternative provider, or if your symptoms warrant an immediate referral to Eye Casualty then you will be advised of this.
